Programming languages for websites: how FOTBO AI is built

A website is more than design, copy and images. Every page relies on technologies that control the interface, interactive elements, data processing and publication. Users do not need to be programmers, but a basic understanding of the technology stack helps explain how a website builder works.
Web development uses many languages and platforms. JavaScript powers interaction and modern browser interfaces. PHP is commonly used on the server side, including by many WordPress websites. Python, Java, Ruby and other technologies can also perform backend tasks. These are different tools, which means that a vulnerability in one technology does not automatically affect every website.
FOTBO AI uses a JavaScript stack. Website interfaces are built with React, while the server side runs on Node.js/Express. A user describes the required website in plain language, and the platform generates its structure, design, copy, images and functional components. The result can then be refined through chat.
PHP is not used in the standard FOTBO AI technology stack. This is why recent reports about the critical PHP2Shell vulnerability do not indicate a problem with FOTBO AI websites. PHP2Shell affects the PHP runtime. When a technology is not present in a website’s architecture, a vulnerability specific to that technology does not apply to it.
For users, the practical conclusion is simple. A website created and published in the standard FOTBO AI environment does not require a PHP check or PHP update. The platform also provides publishing, SSL and managed infrastructure, so users do not need to configure a server before launching their website.
Exported code is a separate case. FOTBO AI supports project download and GitHub integration. If a developer later changes the architecture, adds PHP, WordPress or another server-side component, and deploys the project elsewhere, security depends on that new stack. The external environment must be reviewed according to the technologies it actually uses.
We mention PHP2Shell because it is a useful example of why a technology stack matters, not because FOTBO AI experienced this issue. FOTBO AI is designed for people who want to launch a modern website without choosing programming languages, maintaining server components or managing technical infrastructure themselves.
